This summer, the domestic temperature of China remains high,one of our customer feedback that the the dew point of purgas gas is rised, couldn’t meet the using requirement , asking if it is a problem of the adsorbent.
After checking the customer’s on-site equipment, JOOZEO’s technical staff found that it was not the adsorbent that was the problem. Due to the high temperature and high humidity in summer, the carbon steel pipes and gas tanks were rusted. The rust caused the drainage components to be blocked, causing the water in the gas tank to exceed the air outlet position, eventually causing water to enter the dryer and the adsorbent to spray “mud”. According to JOOZEO’s technical staff, if a 25 cubic meter gas tank is not drained for 1 and a half days, the above situation will occur.
According to statistics, for an air-cooled air compressor with a flow rate of 50 standard cubic meters per minute, the exhaust pressure is 0.5MPaG and the temperature of saturated compressed air is 55℃. When the temperature of the compressed air in the tank drops to 45℃, about 25kg of liquid water will be produced in the tank per hour, and about 600kg per day. Therefore, if the tank drainage system fails, a large amount of water will accumulate inside the tank.
With high humidity at the air inlet and increased gas saturated water content, it will not only increase the load of the suction dryer , but also affect the dew point of the finished gas at the outlet.
In the compressed air drying industry, the most commonly used adsorbents include activated alumina, molecular sieve and silica-alumina gel. They are applicable to various types of suction dryers, such as heatless, micro-heat, blast heat, compression heat and so on, with an average life span of over three years.
We can choose different adsorbents and match them proportionally according to the dew point, energy loss, cost, regeneration condition and the dryer. In this way, the pressure dew point can be as low as -100℃.
